Nothing is so frustrating for a mystery series reader than learning that the first three novels featuring a newly discovered detective fiction character are out of print. Or that your favorite series had one more middle book that you can't find.

Well, fortunately, there are wonderful sources for out-of-print books. First, check your local mystery book store, if you are fortunate enough to have one, because they often have a collection of out-of-print books on a shelf in the back. If they can't help you, hit the internet.

The largest source for rare, used, and out-of-print books is abebooks.com,the world’s largest network of nearly 6,000 independent booksellers. Voted a “Forbes Favorite” and “Best of the Best” in the Books category by Forbes magazine (Best of the Web, May 22, 2000), abebooks.com has more than 20 million listings for everything from signed first editions to wellworn paperbacks. Readers have the option of ordering from the Website or contacting a bookseller directly.

Now it's possible to find that elusive first-in-a-series novel or long out-of-print missing title to complete your collection of a favorite author. To locate the treasured books of your childhood or purchase a gift for a friend.
